Cat fans, how goes it?

I must say, I’m glad that summer is just around the corner. I, for one, hate the cold.

In the summer, mother lets me out on the patio where I bask in the glorious sun. I wish I could spend all day on the patio, but alas, my sun bathing privileges are limited this year because last year I fell asleep, and mother was not pleased that she had to take me to the vet for a “severe sunburn” which I maintain was a “deep tan.”

Last month I wrote about a cat that made friends with a dolphin. I talked about the dangers of being too close to the water and noted the cat was lucky he didn’t become Flipper’s next meal. Yes, last month, I essentially warned my fellow furry felines, that we must be cautious when making friends with other animals.

This cat named Fum, missed the memo. In a recent viral video, Fum and an owl named Gebra, or Wings of Death, as I like to call him, were taped “playing tag” and “wrestling” in a field somewhere.

Cute right? No, not cute. I studied the tape, and here’s my conclusion, Wings of Death was testing Fum. Fum may have the size advantage, but Wings of Death can, uh, FLY!

What was this cat thinking?

An owl has talons, not mittens, not padded gloves, talons. If you ask me, Wings of Death swoops in for a meal multiple times during the video, but Fum, who’s a few kittens short of a litter, thinks the owl is playing.

I’ve seen this before, you see. My second cousin Murph once made friends with an Eagle, or so he thought. Sure it was all fun and games at first, but one day Mr. Eagle wasn’t so fun. To this day we tell Grandma cat that Murph is on an extended vacation.

Owls, much like Eagles, cannot be trusted. So, Fum, here’s what I have to say: yes we cats have nine lives, but each time that owl comes swooping down, you’re wasting one.

Needless to say this is one cat that won’t be venturing into an owl-infested field.

Until next time, I’m Timmy the Tabby. Keep your eyes in the sky my friends!
