Welcome to our October MewsLetter.
Fall is here, leaves, acorns and temperatures
are dropping but your outdoor cats can still be snug and cozy in the cooler
weather. In this issue read how you can make a difference to women's lives
and feline lives and how big cats are making a come back in Florida.

Katkabin supports The Breast Cancer Research Foundation
www.bcfcure.org
in their efforts to raise awareness and funds to fight breast cancer.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and we will be donating 10% of
the proceeds for each sale of the Hot Pink Katkabin to The
Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Help us make a difference by ordering
a Hot
Pink KatKabin in October.
October
16 - National Feral Cat Day 10 year anniversary!
In
1990, most Americans didn’t know the best way to care for stray
and feral cats. Thanks to Alley
Cat Allies, today, improving their lives through Trap-Neuter-Return
programs is widespread and the movement continues to build. Hundreds of
local groups work on behalf of stray and feral cats, while millions of
Americans have reached into their hearts and their wallets to care for
and feed them.
There is
still work to be done. National Feral Cat Day—October 16th—is
a perfect opportunity to tell others about our feral feline friends and
truly make a difference in cats’ lives. Learn how! Download
this year's National Feral Cat Day booklet.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
It's getting a little chilly out there. Have you got a Winter
Warmer in your KatKabin? The Winter Warmer lines the inside
of the KatKabin, keeping it snug and warm for your fabulous feline. The
Winter Warmer is available separately or as part of the Premium Combination
KatKabin. Check out www.KatKabin.net
for a full range of KatKabin options and accessories and look out for
the new EcoGlow
Pet Warming Pad. This low energy waterproof warming pad will
be available later on in October just in time for the serious weather.
Outdoor cats won't have to be cold in sub-zero temperatures this
winter.
Florida
panther makes a comeback
At Katkabin, we care about all cats, small or big and were thrilled to
hear recently that the Florida panther is rebounding. The population of
panthers was down to a dangerously low number of 25 in 1995 but a breeding
program has helped increase that number to near 100. Although this is
not quite enough yet to stop inbreeding, the new hybrid panthers are more
robust and physically fit. Scientists say that similar breeding programs
could help keep other big cats — tigers in Asia and Russia and lions
in Africa — from going extinct.
